THE NATIONAL EVALUATION PROGRAM |

|
College, University & Non-Profit County-wide Environmental Assessment Partners Colleges and Universities and non-profit organizations across the country are invited to partner with Grassroots Environmental Education to evaluate the towns in their counties, using the program’s extensive rating criteria. Potential participants are asked to field teams of students, staff, volunteers and/or citizens to conduct research using the 142 key “green town attributes” on which the program is based. The evaluation can easily be integrated into an established environmental studies course, or offered as a unique learning opportunity. Full course materials, including course syllabus, study guides and student handbooks are available. Citizen and Muinicipal Assessments We realize that local governments, school systems and business communities are eager to develop short and long term environmental goals. Please feel free to use our program’s 142 guiding questions to begin a self-assessment of your town. Likewise, we invite citizens to review our program criteria, to ensure that your town includes key components of a healthy, green community. The complete program criteria can be found here. Please note: While we encourage local leaders and eco-minded citizens to utilize our rating criteria to begin an important dialogue about local environmental issues, only ratings completed by our college, university and non-profit partners will be accepted for on-line posting. To apply for official rating team status, please view the application.
